Memphis Bridal Shower

The bridal shower was a lot of fun, Jan and Fia did a really great job! Here are some pictures from the afternoon.

All in all, a good afternoon! The alumnae tea at Rhodes was also fun, I got to meet a couple of girls I know through facebook but hadn't met since they graduated long before I got there, and I got to see some people I hadn't seen in years!

This week is Halloween, though I STILL don't know what we're going to be! I thought today we could be Michael and Fi from Burn Notice, but it'd be good to have something that the kids might understand for the contest on Wednesday. And that wouldn't involve me being cold. Any suggestions?

Eeexhausted

We're in Memphis, the drive up was nice and uneventful, and we found out that the other interested party at the Solarium dropped the date so we have a place for the reception now!!

The English Dept. isn't doing a reception tomorrow, so all I have is the AOII tea which should be fun since there are so many people who will be there that I haven't seen in forever! On the down side, the bridal shower we all rushed to throw together only has FOUR PEOPLE coming. I'm really upset. I set it this weekend because people said they'd be able to come and now everyone's saying they can't make it. GARGH.

I guess that's really about all. I just got bored and wanted to say something. Keep your fingers crossed that more people RSVP for this stinking shower so that we're not all just staring at each other. *sigh*

Sorry about that...

I'm really busy right now! Work's been busy, which is good because it means more hours, but does leave me with less time to get some things done that need to be done. Pout. My tonsils have also started acting up again, so all day I've felt like I was swallowing glass :( and a camper asked me if I was pregnant today because my belly looked like I was pregnant. Grr. Jeremy tried to console me by saying this is the same kid that thinks girls have penises, but it honestly didn't help much. It's basically been one of those days...

This week we have a Rhodes alumni event at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, which will be nice for Jeremy given his love of botanical gardens, and we're thinking of going to Columbus, Kennesaw, or Dahlonega for a day to get out of the city. Next week, we're taking Thu and Fri off and heading up to Memphis for a RK game, bridal shower (maybe?), Rhodes Homecoming, and just plain old getting out of town.

I don't know that the church is set up for this sort of thing (we're not going to be able to fit in to the Solarium), so we're probably going to do something like this for the entrance at the Solarium.

To not plan things when I'm tired! Turns out that BSG marathon I was so excited about is actually NEXT Friday! I'll have to wait even longer to find out the final Cylon!

Stayed up way too late last night, I'm going to have to try to find someone on Skype today so that I can see if my webcam works well enough to recommend it to Jeremy. I'm also not really thrilled with the new SunTrust Online Banking setup; my debits are 12 hours overdue to post but it looks like they were already taken out of my balance...

Since I won't be BSG'in it today, I'm going to go to the PO to ship Ana's clothes (Cy's will go next week-- I put up pictures of everything on Facebook), the pharmacy to get my Rx (still hate shopping with no insurance...), and will get back to cleaning my room and doing laundry-- everything kinda turned in to a mess while Jeremy was here since we didn't have any room (as the mattress was on the floor) to put anything in its "proper" place. You know, 'cause I have a lot of those... I also need to find the drill so I can finally hang up my purse hooks and the shelves in the closet for my shoes (I know, it sounds silly, but it's the only place I can put them!) so that I can clean some of that up off the floor. I'm also still trying to wrangle the layout for the save-the-dates, I don't have Microsoft Word, but I have OpenOffice which is supposed to be able to work like MW, but that's not working out too well so far... as soon as I figure it out, I'll be able to just plug in the printer and go with them which would be nice-- they were supposed to go out two or three weeks ago!

Oh, and Meg and Michael finally closed in on a name: Violet Genevieve Kavanaugh. I still love Vera, but Vi's pretty cute so it still works! They stopped by work the other day to see me, so I got to see the baby which made me very happy. We've had a lot of little people in this week, and they're all just so sweet-- hopefully this bratty baby trend is going by the wayside!
