FOODIE PEN PALS!

I'm alive, I'm alive! I promise!

As I mentioned last post, Amanda over at Think, Eat, Live was my Foodie Pen Pal for this month and she sent me quite the goodie bag!

That bar that looks like birdfeed was surprisingly tasty! and the ginger chews were a fantastic pick-me-up for the afternoon!

I especially loved the tea (I'd just started running low!) and the seasoning for my rice

but what I'm most excited about is the smoked salt! BBQ Chicken Here I come!

What was also super awesome about this month's is that it turns out Amanda and I have a city in common-- she's from the same hometown as my mother, where I lived for a while as a child.

Small world!

Foodie Pen Pals Fail...

So, basically, I've been working 60 hour weeks for the last few weeks and not only was I late sending my package for Foodie Pen Pals last month but I forgot to put up a post about the amazing treats MY pal sent me!

The pictures are on my camera, which is at work, which is where I'm about to go... *sigh* but I plan on putting them up tonight sooo... yes.

Amanda, over at Eat, Think, Live, is the best and I know she'll forgive me, so until tonight!

Off to the daily grind!

Foodie Pen Pals

So I've been doing this Foodie Pen Pals program that my friend LindsAy turned me on to-- it's a lot of fun, like getting little care packages from complete strangers! This month I was matched to receive from a girl named Jen in NJ and to send to a girl named Miki in NE. Miki's package got lost in the mail, so I'm about to go pick up replacement treats, and Jen's package arrived last week with this goodness...

The makings for s'mores, hot tea, and gum! How did she know?!

Basically, Jen is awesome and she totally made my day! Tomorrow, I'll hit up the PO to send Miki's replacement package AND drop one in the mail for this month's foodie pal!

Camp Kids

One of my fantabulous staff members thought it would be cool to point out the staff members in this picture who went to Camp as kids... since this picture was taken (this past weekend, in fact!) Priscilla and Jay had their beautiful baby boy Austin, a future Camp Kid and sure to follow in his dad's footsteps as a counselor one day! As the oldest, I was there pre-and-post-Kurt, and everyone else whose name has been put in bold has only ever known Camp with Kurt around. It's been... strange without him there to say the least. Not pictured are about four others who couldn't make it who are/were recently staff members and former Camp Kids.

King of Pops!

We have a great popsicle vendor in Atlanta called King of Pops-- they make fresh popsicles with all natural ingredients and they are AWESOME. Literally all natural, the most unnatural they get is Nilla Wafers in the banana pudding pops!

The guy was really awesome with the kids, he told them about how they make the pops, how they keep them cold in the cart, he was so patient with them!

C's aunt was the Camp director when I was a kid!

L, P, and one of their dads-- they are the sweetest family!

W, P, and their dad-- all of them loved the chocolate sea salt

T and P with a chocolate sea salt and a raspberry lime-- the raspberry lime and strawberry lemonade are only 45 calories each, they were a big hit with the parents!

M decided to try and double fist his and his mother's chocolate sea salts... it was pretty funny when he ended up with brain freeze!

Trevon and Claire -- youth group BFFs

TB with the very last chocolate sea salt-- he almost got mobbed!

J was sooooooo excited!

We ended the day with Brandy and Sarah getting yard sale loopy...

and turning Brandy's first yard sale bruise in to a butterfly tattoo!
