CU Pt. 5

Talk about running behind... these are from Winter Break when we went ice skating with the kids-- I think this may have been the first field trip where the counselors had more fun than the kids! Afterwards, we went to pizza at Mellow Mushroom-- YUM!

CU - Pt. 4

We had several birthday parties this spring; it's amazing to look at the kids in these pictures and see how much they've grown just in the span of a few months!

Catching Up -- Pt. 3

Our annual Easter Egg hunt (yes, yes I AM this far behind) was a success! C was SO excited about finding the golden bunny, even though she's allergic to chocolate... we made it up to her with some non-milked goodies and she was thrilled!

C with the golden bunny (it was well hidden and if you found it you got a prize pack)

J and I had to get pretty creative "hiding" over 500 eggs on one floor of the church!

M was preeeeeettty excited about the eggs she found!

M was all, "What do you MEAN you want a picture of me for my mom?!"

K found the golden bunny first... but L found it in the end.

F on his way down, he's a sweet kid and was just happy his mom hadn't picked him up earlier :)

Injured Luna Moth

Still catching up...

This spring we did another family fun night-- my high school friend Judah came and entertained all the kids, there was BBQ from Shane's Rib Shack (YUM) and we watched The Muppet Movie!

Catching Up -- Pt. 2

City Schools of Decatur had their "Winter Break" over the week of Valentine's Day-- since the church owns a retirement home across the street, the kids made Valentines for the OPs at the home! Thanks to an amazing Camp Parent/Art Teacher for the fantastic idea-- we will DEFINITELY be using that again!

Catching Up-- Pt. I

We went to Fernbank for Spring Break! It was pretty cool, as usual, but this particular exhibit didn't have much to keep the kids interested. It was on endangered animals, and the IMAX that went with it was tres cool. Here are some highlights!

They had some very cool lights that shined animal designs from paw prints to fish to the monkey seen above!

The kids were super excited to see how many of them it took to weigh the same as a panda!

"I killed the thing I love the most!"
I found this. It needs no explanation if you've seen Tropic Thunder. If you haven't seen it, you need to stop reading this and go watch it.

Jimmy shows Vica and Gracie the shell collection by the IMAX entrance while they wait.
